Walking around last week I couldn’t help but giggle when I noticed a very edgy, masked woman spray painting the public space at La Brea and Melrose. Apparently she’s been catching the eye of lots of photographers including the LA Independent where it was published last month. Alas, local newspapers are still mostly bereft of color. So I thought, better viewed here. You may have seen this but why not another look? The artist here seems to be spraying her own message and signature. And although, this sort of mis-en-scene image is totally cool, I cannot help but wonder about the dialog — tagging — Graffiti or vandalism? Anyone care to weigh in on this one? Are you the artist? Get in touch with me. I’d like to hear your take.
In protest to the deplorable layoffs, the Roy Romer Middle School community has banded together to produce this lip dub video. Spread the word… show this video to everyone!!! Saving the teachers should be our number one priority!!!
